Dr. Pietropaoli is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, fellowship trained in sports medicine.
Marc P. Pietropaoli, MD is recognized as one of the leading sports medicine and orthopedic surgeons in Upstate New York. As the founder of Victory Sports Medicine & Orthopedics in Skaneateles, NY, Dr. Pietropaoli has built an innovative clinical practice that is driven by outstanding customer service.  In fact, the mission of every employee in his practice is to “one up the golden rule” by treating those they serve even better than they treat themselves.

Dr. Pietropaoli strongly believes that many of today’s health issues and injuries can be prevented through healthier lifestyles and education.  For this reason, a major emphasis is placed on nutrition, strength and conditioning, correcting or improving function movements, and even specialty areas such as gait and balance.

When surgery is required, Dr. Pietropaoli uses minimally invasive surgical procedures that result in smaller incisions, faster recovery and better patient outcomes. He has significant experience with joint replacements, torn ligaments, fractures, arthritis, pulled muscles, knee and shoulder injuries, and much more. His practice has helped thousands of patients and athletes return to their active lifestyles or sports.

A native of Rochester, NY, Dr. Pietropaoli completed his undergraduate training at Syracuse University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelors of science in Biology. He then graduated Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian of his medical school class at the State University of New York at Upstate Medical University. His Orthopedic Surgery Residency program was also completed at Upstate Medical University, followed by a Fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute (www.asmi.org) in Birmingham, Alabama under the direction of world-renowned sports medicine physicians James R. Andrews, M.D. and William G. Clancy, M.D.  Dr. Andrews has worked with hundreds of world-class athletes such as Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Roger Clemens, Robert Griffin III, and more.

Dr. Pietropaoli is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.  He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, American Medical Society, Medical Society of the State of New York, and Cayuga County Medical Society (vice president). He is also secretary of the American Sports Medicine Institute Fellowship Society.
